FAQ
I'm from southern Maine! I was born on Long Island, New York and moved to Maine when I was three and a half. It took me a while to accept Maine as my home, but once I did I fell in love with the nature and beauty of this state. I couldn't imagine a better inspiration to all of my stories than the natural beauty of Maine.
Glad you asked! I grew up with birds and dogs my whole life. I have one dog, a pyredoodle named Montana, and my family has two mini poodles, Ruby and Daisy, and three birds, Charlie the conure, Rocky the blue headed pionus, and Lily the parakeet.
Charlie is my baby bird, I have had him since my fifteenth birthday. My family adopted him from a local bird refuge at the age of seven (we believe) and he has been a constant in my life since. Though he doesn't live with me, I still see him all the time.
I also ride horses and leased a horse named Track for six years! I haven't gotten the chance to ride in a while, but when I do I love hanging out with the horses and singing to them.
I also love going on walks with my dogs. The three of us love to explore the woods around southern Maine and run across the sandy beaches.
This is a hard one...I have a few, so I will list them! If you haven't read these, I would say they're a must.
The Lady Helen Trilogy by Alison Goodman (amazing YA historical fantasy)
The Daevabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty (Also a historical fantasy, wonderful world-building)
The Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger (MG fantasy series, long books, fun characters, great hooks).
Also the Kingslayer Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss (fantasy series that still hasn't been finished...my husband got me into this series, but alas, it still has yet to be finalized with the third book. Great writing and world-building though)!
